Today’s Advent Calendar feature is Charity Stow! An up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Nottingham, Charity grew up in a musical family and found her own unique sound with guidance from her father. Music has always been a big part of her life, with her songwriting influences ranging from Carole King and Bob Dylan to Lucy Rose and Billie Marten. “Songwriting is a form of therapy for Charity,” and she is “finding her own place in the music scene and creating a unique sound through which to channel her experiences.”
Charity Stow has recently played social-distanced shows at The Bodega Secret Garden, Dubrek Studios Derby, and Nottingham Arboretum. Her last two singles, including her debut, “Here,” have been played on BBC Introducing (Nottingham, Leicester, and Derby) as well as Rutland Radio and PCRFM.
Charity’s third release, “Wake Up,” premiered on November 27, 2020. The track featured Charity’s vocals combined with Howard Smith on guitar, Jamie Masters on keyboard and programming, Jack Stow on keyboards, and Cozy Dixon on the drums.
