“This year has been one of the hardest / And it’s pushing me the farthest from myself / I don’t know how… / But all the people that I cherish / To get near them would be careless to my heart /I try hard to not lose sight / Gets darker every night / I’m losing all my hope / I could really use a miracle…”

“Miracle” by Million Miler

Today’s Advent Calendar feature is Million Miler! The solo project of Tom Higgenson of the Grammy-nominated Plain White T’s, “Millie” is “a modern day love letter to the decade that gave us The Goonies, Back to the Future, Thriller, MTV, and John Hughes movies. Higgenson noticed that an 80s revival was gaining traction with the release of shows like Stranger Things, and as an 80s kid himself, he couldn’t have been more thrilled. Driving down the Pacific Coast Highway listening to synth-wave music in [year], Higgenson felt drawn to the idea of this new project: a combination of 80s synth-pop and a modern-day beat with a futuristic feel. And thus, Million Miler was born.”

From his debut single, “Take a Chance on Me” to his latest tracks “Kidz in Love,” and “Miracle,” Million Miler has released four 80’s synth-pop style songs so far and plans to release an album in early 2021.
