Today’s Advent Calendar feature is Giovanna Crescenzo! A blossoming artist, songwriter, and producer from New Jersey, the versatile singer draws inspiration from 90’s music and mixes hints of pop, trap and R&B with her signature ear candy vocals and harmonies to create sweet, spacey pop music.
Giovanna’s original music features the melding of multi-genre instrumentals and compelling lyricism, constructing a style that is unapologetically unique. Simultaneously sugary and dark, Giovanna’s music is an authentic reflection of her artistry that is sure to mesmerize listeners with its delicate power.
Before embarking on her solo endeavors, Giovanna started as a lead vocalist with cover bands throughout New York and New Jersey as she came into her multidimensional talents. She co-produced her recent tracks, “You” and “Watered Down” with C.A.S. Music Productions and Grammy award winning engineer, Alan Douches, but continues to hone her own music production studies.
Giovanna spent the majority of 2020 learning more about music production and songwriting as well as building up her home studio. “We need more female representation behind the mixing board,” she says. “I really want to work toward ending that stigma.”
Currently, Giovanna is working on new original music, which is set to debut in 2021. She plans to release at least two to three singles “with a recurring female empowerment theme,” which will eventually lead up to an EP. In the meantime, Giovanna hopes that “Watered Down” dares her listeners to become their most authentic selves in every aspect of life.
