Happy 2019 Holidays!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

So much has happened in 2019 and since my last winter holiday post that I think it’s important to stop and reflect on how far we’ve come since then. So, since last Christmas I have…

Written over 150 blog posts!

Highlighted approximately 65 talented artists!

Been joined by over 5.8k website visitors!

Shared posts with over 400 followers on Twitter!

…and I couldn’t have done any of it without you! Thank you for reading my blog and supporting me through my first crazy year-and-a-few-months of doing this. I promise that if you stick around, there’s plenty more where all that came from.

In fact, I have some important announcements for 2020!

The new year brings a new schedule. Due to other writing projects and jobs as well as my studies, I have decided to adopt a Mondays-only posting schedule with the occasional Friday post thrown in when necessary. It is important to me that the quality of my blog only increases, so I would rather post less and retain pride in my writing. This does mean that review slots are more exclusive, so get your music submitted fast if you’re an artist!

Prices are also increasing as I gain experience, but are set at a very fair $15/album, $12/EP, and $10/single review for the foreseeable future. Any updates will be posted on my contact page.

While I do need to make a small margin of profits to continue running my blog and helping artists, I realize that there will be many bands that are not able to pay for a review. Because my main goal is to help the DIY industry and smaller artists, I will also be providing a limited number of free Instagram posts on my account on Wednesdays in 2020. Interested bands can send their applications through the contact page, entering them into a pool to be selected for feature. While not every artist will be accepted, many will be, and I hope this will give them even a bit of a boost.

I am looking forward to seeing how the new blog progresses in 2020, but 2019 isn’t over yet! On December 27, I will be posting my final “Best Of” list of the year. This list includes the best of the best of my 2019 submissions, and I’m excited to remind old readers of and introduce new readers to some of my favorite projects.

Stay tuned, and in the meantime, enjoy your holiday!
